Recent Work: Cyril Helnwein Photography
1st May 2008

Los Angeles based photographer Cyril Helwein recently launched his new collection "Myths & Fairytales", and asked me to build a new site to display his new work.
He wanted a clean, easy to navigate, clutter free site which could be easily updated. I delivered this using PHP, mySQL and the wonderful jQuery.

Current & Upcoming Work
15th April 2008I've just kicked off the system design for a new broker web app for one of my favourite clients, Irish Mortgage Brokers. The goal of this project is to improve their existing web based CRM, which they've been using for quite a while now. It's still early days so I can't give away much, but the main goal is to improve usability and productivity.
I've also got a few exciting projects coming up. One that I'm particularly happy to be working on is a project with Dublin property company Dublin Letting. Without giving too much away just yet, it's basically a CRM web app that will allow easy managment of a process that's not as straight-forward as it should be. Sounds a bit cryptic, I know. It's kicking off at the beginning of May, so watch this space.
Recent Work: Play Of Opposites
10th March 2008

I recently completed work on a website for UK based Juliette Hart. She spent a few months putting an album together and wanted a site to help release it to the world. The site is managed by my CMS, and allows her to easily make changes to her site.
Along with PHP and mySQL, I used the jQuery media plugin with the awesome JW Flash Media Player to showcase the album tracks.

Upcoming Work
27th February 2008I'm working with art photographer Cyril Helnwein right now. We're in the middle of a complete overhaul of his website, the primary focus of which is his most recent collection. Although a lot of other photographers tend to prefer the use of Flash for displaying their photography in online portfolio-style sites, we're going to use HTML, CSS, jQuery and PHP to ensure his work is opened up to the widest possible audience, and of course search engines.
There are two other projects that are in the early stages of production:
- A UK-based musician's website.
- A web application for a start up.
Thats's about all I can say for now, but I'm looking forward to posting more about these soon.
Recent Work: Leona Daly
25th February 2008

There was a bit of a scramble with this project. Leona found herself in the national limelight at the beginning of February, as a finalist in the Eurosong 2008 content which was broadcast on RTÉ on the 23rd of February.
Despite being the proud owner of a domain name, LeonaDaly.com, she found herself without a site, and suddenly in dire need of one.
Given her hectic timetable of interviews and rehearsals, there wasn't the too much time available to me for a proper consultation, but we managed to settle on a simple clean design, and within a few hours I had it plugged into my CMS (which features drag and drop navigation, WYSIWYG editing, meta tag and SEO content), and serving out content and some of her beautiful tracks.
Recent Work: Irish Mortgage Brokers
January 2008
Karl Deeter of Irish Mortgage Brokers asked me to help with further development of their internal web application, which is used to keep track of their client's mortgage applications.
The brokers use the system to create client focused tasks, collate documentation and communicate with their clients.
The system currently uses PHP 4 and mySQL. I've just upgraded this to PHP 5, and I'm adding in intuitive interface elements with the help of jQuery. I recently added in a nice Search / Suggest feature, using jQuery, which offers search functionality similar to that of Google Suggest.
In addition, I have also provided IMB with expertise in areas such as best web practices, data & application security and blogging software.
Recent Work: PurePedals.com
December 2007
David Walsh of PurePedals.com needed help with his e-commerce website. His business is selling guitar pedals - high quality, high end, guitar pedals.
He was not happy with his current off-the-shelf e-commerce solution and asked me to help. He was concerned that his customers weren't getting the online shopping experience that he wanted for them, and was looking for a way to improve.
I put together a simple, easy to use and administer e-commerce system, that provides him with the flexibility to expand, and his users with an experience that will encourage them to return. A bit of AJAX on the front end makes selecting products more usable and intuitive. Linking the e-commerce part with realex means that all transactions are authenticated in real time, providing a seamless experience for his users.
I used PHP, mySQL, jQuery and the realex API to make this happen.
